Tinubu’s Convoy, Journalists Attacked by Hoodlums as Tinubu Returns to Lagos

The APC flagbearer Bola Ahmed Adekunle Tinubu’s convoy was attacked by hoodlums during his visit to the palace of the Oba of Lagos on Sunday, June 19, 2022.

This incident occurred at the Adeniji end of Isale Eko (bottom of Eko).

According to a journalist Adeola Ogunrinde who sustained injury during the attack, “some of the hoodlums were armed with cutlasses, and they threw stones and other weapons which smashed side glasses and front windshields of vehicles which conveyed journalists and the security car on the convoy”. She said their bus was on the tail end of the convoy.

Furthermore, she stated that their bus was damaged, and most of them sustained various injuries on their bodies. “One of us even had his phone stolen. It was a terrible experience. We have been given medical attention and tomorrow I will be at the hospital”.

The following leaders of All Progressive People’s Congress (APC) accompanied Tinubu to the palace. Abdullahi Ganduje (Kano State Governor) Hope Uzodinma (Imo State Governor), former APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, and the former Governor of Borno State, Senator Kashim Shettima.
