Nigerian Athlete Tobi Amusan Receives $100,000 for Breaking World Athletics Awards

Nigeria’s world athlete Tobi Amusan has received $100,000 equivalent to N50m for breaking the World record in the women’s 100m hurdles event in Eugene, Oregon.

Amusan became the first Nigerian athlete ever to set a World Record in any event, also, this is the second award Amusan has received so far, improving on her 12.12s in the semi-final.

Furthermore, Amusan will now turn her attention to the Commonwealth Games beginning on Thursday, July 28 where she’s also the defending champion.
