A statement signed by ASUU’s national president, Professor Emmanuel Osodeke, after a two-day National Executive Council meeting held at the University of Calabar, Cross River State, maintained that it was not in support of the proposed introduction of education loan, saying it would fail.

Meanwhile, it said the union was disturbed by the sneaky moves by the government to price university education beyond the reach of poor Nigerian students and their parents through the introduction of various charges.

ASUU also called on Nigerians to prevail on the government to urgently address all outstanding issues contained in the December 2020 FGN-ASUU Memorandum of Action.
