Nigeria hosts Liberia in their first 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying game this evening 5pm Nigerian time, with the game billed to be played at the Teslim Balogun stadium in Lagos.

The Super Eagles have played the Lone Stars 14 times in the past across all competitions, winning nine times. The last time Nigeria lost to Liberia was in July 2000 during a World Cup qualifying campaign, with Christopher Wreh scoring twice.

Gernot Rohr’s men will be looking to begin the series on a winning note, before they travel in four days to face Cape Verde.
